This summer, I did an internship at Harbor Picture Company, a production and post studio. I worked as a CG intern. For the intern project, we were assigned to create a short clip that showcased the Harbor “H.” The brief was very broad, and we were given complete freedom in execution.
Being in New York City, I took a lot of inspiration from my surroundings, especially the dynamism and movement of the subway system.
The subway system is a key feature of a New Yorker’s life. The subway keeps things moving; it gets you where you need to go. For a city that never sleeps, an effective method of transportation is essential. I drew comparisons between the transportation of people and the movement of ideas. In a company where creative ideas and high-quality execution keep the lights on, I thought that the New York subway was a perfect analogy. With my idea developed I began to sketch.
